Pine City Council unanimously approves 315 Main Street purchase agreement

The Pine City Council unanimously approved the purchase agreement for the sale of the 315 Main Street property at Wednesday's meeting.

The council agreed to move forward with a boutique hotel concept proposed by Solutions Real Estate Group back in April.

According to the purchase agreement, the building is being sold for $100,000.

Council member Dan Swanson made the motion to approve the agreement, with a second from Dave Hill. Both shared a similar preamble: "Nothing would make me happier."

"Nobody's happier than me, because this has been a six-year or five-year campaign," said council member Kyle Palmer. "I just didn't want to say anything until you guys voted on it."

According to a timeline presented by the developer in March, the project would likely require about six months for design, one month for permitting, and a three-to-five month review process to qualify for the federal historic tax credit.

At that time, Gretchen Camp, who would serve as project manager from Minneapolis-based architecture and design firm ESG, said the construction process would likely start in spring of 2026, with a 12-to-16 month schedule.

"I'm going to be the first one to rent a room there," joked council member Gina Pettie.
